My sunflowers are now 13 weeks old and as you can see almost as tall as the lower roof of our kitchen(now over 6 feet tall, maybe even taller) and I even caught a damn squirrel yesterday climbing up on the stems too and leaning them all the way down to the ground, snapping one of them so now I put a sort of a "barrier" in between some of them in the middle, a shovel laying across to give them some support so they can't be bent and knocked over and I absolutely hate those f*cking pesky squirrels; they're such a menace and nuisance! My mother feeds them every day too so you'd think that would be enough, but noooo the damn things still have to attack my sunflowers and I tell her she could poison them instead! Now as soon as a flower blooms I have to cut it and take it inside otherwise the squirrels shred the poor thing trying to get at the seeds. We have a nest of them in our kitchen roof too we're never able to get rid of; we keep trying and filling in the hole but the damn things just keep on chewing a new hole and keep coming back. It scares me because my friend J (from grade 8) has a restaurant and she said she had the same thing only they chewed thru her wires and caused a fire and burned the place down! We already had one fire(back in 1996) and we don't need another one!
Good news! My friend's son( seen here) is now home from the hospital and he's shown here getting ready to go home, and it's funny too that decades ago to me anyway the word "edible" meant something that was safe to eat, as in not poison, but now it means a food that's cannabis infused, and I saw this trivia question that asked where in California is the Happiest Place On Earth and I thought it must be Rodeo Drive (the ultra-rich swanky shopping district where they have Gucci, Prada, Ives St. Laurent, etc.) but it turned out to be Disneyland and I always thought Dallas was the capital of Texas too but it turns out it's actually Austin and now don't *I* feel stupid, and I also heard that there's this town in Chile where it takes 30 years to just get an inch of rain so that would be the perfect place for me to move as I hate rain.
This is also the typical temp. we've been having all last week and for all this week, too; a heatwave along with record-breaking temps and heat advisories and so hot you can't even go outside, and I only venture out for short periods like to smoke my weed ,water my flowers,or to take Buddy out to do his business but not to sit outside anymore( and I really miss it and feel like a hostage all housebound inside) and certainly NOT out in the sun, whereas in Vancouver they have normal temps like 21 C and in Edmonton it's even like fall; 13 C which I would actually rather have than feeling like 40 C every day which is too hot, oppressively hot and reminds me of when we were in Egypt and it was 42 C without humidity and it was just sooooo hot it felt like my face was melting off. In Oliver it also begins with Food, glorious food! and that's exactly how I feel too when I sit down to a good meal. Yeah....I know....gluttony is my biggest sin....and it shows.
I’m so tired of running as fast as I can to stay in the same place.
