Here is Buddy yesterday outside enjoying feeling the sun and the breeze on his face and it's days like this I know that the Old Guy still enjoys life and is glad to still be alive and enjoys pleasure despite his old age(16) and despite my family saying I should "put him down" because he's old and limps along with his arthritis I know he's not ready to die yet and that he still enjoys life and has life left in him still. Not that I could, anyway; I couldn't kill my best friend and I'd never be able to live with myself or with the guilt and besides, it's up to God to decide when each life term ends, not us.It's also days like this I enjoy being alive, too(which is a rare thing for me!), sitting outside feeling the sun on my face, and the greatest pleasures in life are free. He also almost caught a mouse yesterday as well that was scurrying across the livingroom so he's still "got" it, even in his old age and I honestly didn't think he could still move that fast! I also saw the mouse run into a hole in my stereo speaker as well so now I wonder if maybe they even have a nest in there so just in case I put the speaker outside on the back porch. Buddy's comical to watch as well tyring to reposition and settle himself into a chair as well as he's so long(being a Dachshund), trying to not fall off; he reminds me of an 18 wheeler trying to turn.
This is my Easter haul and stash from yesterday, too; a hollow dog chocolate and Lindt bunny. We also had our Easter Feaster big dinner with 4 turkeys, 2 hams, 3 veggies, 2 kinds of potatoes, buns, etc. and I felt stuffed just like the turkey! The 27 YR old was in charge of the herbed little potatoes and he didn't cook them enough and forgot the olive oil but I was able to "ressurrect" them and save them but the best ones ever were the little garlic potatoes that the 20 YR old used to make, and now the girls in BC have 2 cats as well so I can just imagine how pissy their place must smell, with all the rain the grass is all green now and our tulips and daffodils are coming up as well but tonight we're supposed to get.....no joke....10-18 cm of snow but then it's getting up into the teens so it won't last for long, but seriously though, really?
Using the shampoo bar was also less messy and it didn't drip into my eyes but my scalp was always itchy, flaky and had lots of dandruff so this morning I went back to the regular liquid shampoo and now my scalp is tingling and feels nice and clean. Oh,well.Interesting as well; with COVID and ever since I had it my abdomenal pain is gone, too, so there must be some kind of connection, maybe even a "trade-off" and if so, it's worth it; 2 weeks of feeling deathly ill for chronic daily pain. I'll take it!
Go out with a bang, not a whisper.
