Yesterday not only did we have our first thunderstorm of the year/spring/ season but it was an epic one! It started at 9 am and went until 4 pm; non-stop thunder and lightning and either torrential rain or freezing rain with ice-pellets and even a possibility of a tornado! I've never seen one so bad and for so long! It was the strangest thing, and certainly unusual and extreme weather patterns in the Last Days. Usually a storm lasts under an hour so this must have been a series of storm cells back-to-back. Thousands lost power( we were lucky, unusual for us) and I tried to run Buddy outside for bathroom breaks in-between but one time he couldn't "hold" it and we got absolutely drenched. I'll let my Twitter posts describe it as it was unfolding in real time:
As well, my hubby has to return the rental car today and insurance says they'll cover another rental but only for 5 days( and our car won't be repaired or replaced by then I'm sure so we'll just be S.O. L) and one of the excuses insurance had as to why our car has been sitting in the lot this whole time was that they "hadn't had the release form yet from the towing company" even though my hubby e-mailed it to them weeks ago and they checked and sure enough there it was; the morons just hadn't checked their e-mail in awhile. Like I said, so half-assed, just like everyone and everything here in this shithole. I also have to plan my week ahead of time so I know what to expect so I'm not as anxious and stressed and when I asked my hubby for an update he was talking to me slowly and condescendeningly like I'm a retard and I hate it; he's always just so demeaning and belittling, and in USA Wendy's has a bacon croissant and potato wedges breakfast for only 3$ but here the exact same thing costs 5$ and we're always getting over-charged and ripped-off for everything, and Stevie Ray Vaughn was 35 when he was killed in that helicopter crash in 1990 too and I was just in my early 20's and at the time I remember thinking he was "old" but now I'm 56 myself I look back and think he was young. It all depends on where you're coming from and how you look at things.
And I said I try
Oh Lord I try
I try
I really try try try.-Peter Tosh
