Dear Old Dog.

Dear Old Dog.

This is a re-post from 2019:

My Dear Old Dog.
I love you so very, very much.
More than I could ever ever say.
You are my everything; my life, my love, the light and joy in my life.
You are 13 which is 91 in Dog Years and I will never get enough time left with you
To love you, cuddle you, snuggle you, tell you my secrets, cry into your soft fur, to watch you grow old
to grow old together.
Now with age and grey hair half your face is now white
and your paws now look like you wear white socks.
Your hip is ragged with arthritis and you walk ever-so-slowly.
I suspect you don't see too well anymore
but your love, devotion, loyalty and fierce dedication is still just as strong as ever.
You are my best friend.
You are the best dog I've ever had and I don't know what I'd ever do without you.
Life without you was empty, lonely and sad.
You came along and filled in a void.
I prayed and asked God to send someone to love me and He sent me you.
I needed a hand and you gave me your paw.
I have never had a better friend than you, my Dear Old Dog.
I will never be able to say goodbye. When the time comes I pray that I go first.
Every day I still have with you is a blessing I am grateful for.
I will never have a dog like you.
Getting you was the best thing I ever did.
I love you so much my Dear Old Dog.
Others may look at you and see an old weary dog but I see the best friend I've ever had.
I wouldn't trade you for anything.
You can't put a price on love.

“If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever.” A. A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh
