Love Story.

I'm watching the FX 9 part series Love Story: John .F& Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette. I saw the previews and liked it and I remember them from the 90's so decided to watch it. So far I've seen 7 out of the 9 episodes and I like it. Yesterday I had a "marathon" watching it. This is one series where I already know the ending ahead of time.(They die in a plane crash in 1999 at ages 33 and 38 years old along with her sister.) I always thought he was handsome and I liked her "minimalist" style: her hair put back in a simple bun, bright red lipstick but "bare" face otherwise and she had such beautiful eyes.

The show also showed how she felt out of place at Kennedy family events and both JFK JR's mother Jackie and aunt Ethel weren't nice to Carolyn and both were bitches and seemed to have their own rivalry going on between them with Ethel( what an awful name, I know, the poor woman!) feeling "inferior" to Jackie( being homely-looking although I never thought Jackie was really that "pretty",either, but she was sophistocated and elegant), yet Ethel was gifted with 11 children and Jackie only had 2 ( she had 2 that died as infants and several miscarriages) so they both were blessed only in different ways.

Both of them were also portrayed as not too "bright" as it took him 4 tries to pass the Bar Exam to get his law degree and she was clueless when it came to politics and world events ; the typical beautiful but "shallow" people, and they also made Daryl Hannah (his former GF) seem "flaky" and Jackie was mean and rude to her as well and didn't like or "approve" of her just for being an actress and John really wasn't "free" to get married until his mother died as she never would have "approved" of ANY woman "good" enough for her son. His sister Caroline also was portrayed as a bitch(but her hubby Ed seemed ok) and the Kennedy family in general just seems to be a nightmare although John's cousin( and best friend)Anthony seemed nice and it's sad he died of cancer at age 40, but at least it was some "consolation" that they both died just months apart the same year.

Their story also reminds me of Princess Diana: how she had to basically give up her identity ,job, and privacy and previous life once she married a high-profile famous man and she was hounded by the press and it drove her to tears and it made poor Carolyn a virtual recluse in her own home. Their story also reminds me of Prince Harry; how his wife was also a "refuge" of a sorts, an "escape" and a breath of fresh air away from his stifling demanding family.
.It wasn't the fantasy "Fairy Tale" that everyone seems to make it out to be.
Life is tragic no matter WHO you are, or how privileged you are, and good things never last.

If life were a symphony I would be a soloist.
