Mi Perrito Querido.
Look how cute my little Bejalito is. Isn't he just sooooo sweet? I love him soooo much! I can't believe exactly 2 months yesterday is Christmas already, too.
Holy shit.
My hubby said when I turn 60 in January I can apply for my early pension( normal is 65) so I can look forward to an extra 20$ a month.
Wow.
I don't know how they expect people to live on that.
In Europe the monthly pension is 2K.
He also always taunts me I'll "live into my 80s" but I sure hope NOT; I can't imagine 20 or more years of this drudgery.
They say "Life is what you make it" but sometimes life makes you.
I keep hoping every day is my last but I'm surprisingly hard to kill.

Look at this beautiful orange maple in our back yard. A few of them disappoint this year though; last year the leaves were a beautiful orange but this fall are yellow with brown and then went dead and dry and fell off, never turning a brilliant orange. My hubby also did his final outdoor pickleball of the season until spring and now has to pay almost twice as much to play indoors and I saw 3 cannabis plants in a neighbour's backyard as well I thought were "straight-laced" and it made me laugh and I thought they seemed nice enough before but I have a new respect for them now, ha, ha.
Yesterday I also missed my mother and Buddy extra( some days are just like that, more nostalgic, I guess) and I asked my hubby how long he'd cooked the buns for and he sheepishly said, "I forgot about them and left them in the oven too long...." and that's why they were "so well done" but I actually meant it as a good thing because they were nice and golden brown & crispy the way I like and I was wondering how long he left them in to get them that way as no matter how long I do mine they never get that golden brown.

Married life in your 50s and 60s is also so "romantic" as well: my hubby will ask, "Would you care for some coitus?" and I'm like, "Sure.....why not?" Tomorrow is also his birthday and he turns 63( old fart, ha,ha) and for my Christmas gift from him I got the concert ticket to see Triumph and for my birthday I think I'll get more bath bombs from Lush. At this point I pick my own gift and just give him the bill.
I'll also never forget in the ICU 1-2 weeks before my mother died she said, "My parents are waiting"(along with, "I have to go.") and it struck me as both comforting and sad, as it was beautiful that even an 83 YR old woman's parents were waiting for her to cross over to the Other Side so she wouldn't be alone, but also sad because it was at that moment I also knew where it was heading and that she wouldn't be recovering.

I can also still remember interesting stories my mother told me about her co-workers at the hospital over the years, incl. one where one had concerns about her son and asked my mother for advice; her teen son painted his bedroom black and she was worried and asked her if she should be concerned and she told her not necessarily; not if it was the only thing, but to watch out for anything else, for other signs he might be disturbed...and as it turned out he ended up to be a pedophile, and a nurse whose ex-husband shot and killed her in the middle of the street with a crossbow, and you wouldn't believe the interesting lives of doctors and nurses there and I still laugh too remembering when I was a little kid she had a doctor friend of hers from work pierce my ears too using a needle! Syringe and needle like you would for a "shot". Most kids went to the place in the mall where they got it done with the "gun" but not me, although when I was a teen I got my second set done that way.
I also hope Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow gets re-elected(I think she's doing a good job and she seems to care about renters, the homeless and the downtrodden and the "average" guy) and NOT Brad Bradford( what a funny name that is...it cracks me up) as he seems to be a douchebag, and even the people in his own ward( Upper Beaches, my old neighbourhood!)where he's counceller don't even like him, so if he doesn't even serve his own neighbourhood well how is he going to do for an entire city, plus he also said he's willing to envoke the "Strong Mayor Powers" where the mayor can over-rule city council and that to me sounds like a dictator.
The election is today....
No matter where I live I will still always carry a bit of my hometown in me.
Oh, please don't you rock my boat (don't rock my boat)
Because I don't want my boat to be rocking (don't rock my boat).-Bob Marley
