The Big Dog.
This morning when I took Buddy out for his early 7 am walk as he and I went out the front door and were on the porch ready to go down the stairs I spotted this really big golden dog standing in the driveway, in front of the stairs, blocking our way but at first I wasn't too concerned as it looked like a friendly breed, like the Golden Lab seen here so I just told it to Shoo! Go away! Go on! only it didn't.....and it ran, right up onto the veranda to where we were and quickly started towards Buddy and not in a friendly licking- butt dog greeting way so then the threat alert ( to my little Dachshund, not to myself) went off and I instinctively scooped up Buddy in my arms to hold him up to a higher level where the other dog couldn't reach, only then it came right up to me and stood up tall, on it's hind legs with it's front paws almost on my shoulders, trying to get at Buddy so we quickly ran back inside and I just took him out the back in the fenced-in yard(still on the leash, just to be safe) to go pee. That was quite unexpected though, and scary, esp. first thing in the morning, and luckily it was just outside the front door, and not, say, halfway thru the walk where we'd be stranded out alone in the middle of the sidewalk with nowhere to go for escape!
As well, I've been really sweaty lately, like in the middle of summer and I have to take off my socks and sweater and if I'm in bed whip off my covers, and I bet it's the Hot Flashes of menopause, and the 15 YR old had to work an extra hour at the grocery store( both her and the 17 YR old work there part-time to save up $$$$$ for school) and I told her it's good as it gives her more $$$$ for Christmas and she goes, Oh, a whole 10$! and when I said it could buy someone a gift she looked offended and goes, How cheap do you think I am? but actually I meant poor, not cheap, and I kept smelling gross smells yesterday too; one was like rotten eggs that permeated all outside and I wondered if it might have been a natural gas leak, and the other was inside on and off and smelled what could best be described as an earthy wet mud odour, like you'd expect in a mudslide or sinkhole.....and then I came across an article that mentioned smell hallucinations and that they can be a symptom of Temporal Lobe Epilepsy! Maybe that's it? Esp. since I do have seizures, although when I had the EEG it never showed anything but that was only for a short while during the day and mine seem to occur mainly during the night when I'm asleep....
One of my hubby's brothers was also admitted to the hospital for 2 days and they considered surgery for his Divirticulitis( the same thing I have; inflamed sacs in the colon) and they made a big deal over it when he went to the hospital with his abdomenal pain but with mine they weren't even the slightest bit concerned(even though I also had lots of rectal bleeding as well) with mine the doctor just causually says the CT scan showed it and it's just something chronic I have to live with and basically just watch my diet and it just goes to show how medical professionals never seem to take women's issues seriously. I mean it; if there's ever any abdomenal issues with women they just pass it off as women's issues and don't take it seriously, but if a man shows up at the ER in abdomenal distress they get all concerned and admit him(even though eventually they discharged him and told him the same thing they told me: diet changes and I also take herbal supplement for which do help). it's the same with my ovarian cyst, pain, and abnormal bleeding: I'm just a woman so I'm just expected to put up with it.
My hubby also told me he heard the police here arrested a guy who said he planned on killing random people in town even though I'd never heard a thing about it and I listen to the local radio station and when I did research on it I still never found anything so now I wonder if it's even true or not or if it's just more of his trying to freak me out, scare me and mind-f*ck me and just playing with my head trying to mess with me and scare me. It is scary though, to think what could have happened if it is true: it could have been me out walking Buddy, or the girls walking to and from work, or any of us going to church.....it's too scary to even think about!
