Half-Assed.

OK, so the other day I was tracking a parcel I was waiting for in the mail and it said it was to arrive on Friday so all day someone was either sitting out on the front veranda or was in the livingroom with the front door open, waiting for the knock on the door.....but it got to 15:30 and it still hadn't come so I checked online once again and wouldn't you know it- just my luck- it had been updated Unable to deliver package left notice so I go back once again to the mailbox and checked bit there's nothing there.No parcel( which you're supposed to sign for anyway, not just leave, although they have once before, and I paid extra for quick and to-door delivery)...and nothing....no notice....nothing. My first insctintive reaction:

Some f*cker stole my weed!!

So I'm freaking out and in a panic because I'm also almost out ( I miscalculated originally and thought I still had a weeks' left when I re-ordered but turned out I had maybe a day and it was the weekend  so I would have ran out) and my mother said to check the side door; that maybe they left it there, so I figure, Who would do that? What kind of fool would come to the side door, esp. when we had the front door open all day.... but I went and checked and lo and behold there it was: the notice to pick up my parcel at the post office.

.....the f*ck?

WTF? They never even knocked on the door or rang the doorbell.They just left the notice to go pick it up. We were there all day waiting and listening for it and what kind of half-assed imbecile even goes to the side door anyway? So I had to end up hauling my ass to the post office to pick it up even though I paid for door-to-door service. Canada Post is just soooo half-assed and it's NOT the first time they've done this to me either and when I complained to the lady at the counter she told me she's heard lots about this; that it's been a problem in our area,too. What total assholes. She gave me their number to call and complain.

Good news is the pool's ready to go now and now after a 4 day or so heatwave it's finally cooling down; only 26 C today and less humid instead of 40 C like it was yesterday.The power was also off the other day for 3 HRS and it didn't take long for the house to heat up with the A/C off!  I like the heat but that was just too hot and I had trouble breathing; my chest felt all tight and constricted, like it did when we had the fire and my lungs were starved for oxygen. The humidity also reminded me of Florida, when we walked out of the airport this wall of humidty just hit us as soon as we walked out the door and it was so overpowering it was just awful.
