I really miss the 70's and 80's. Those were great times. Life was normal then. No propaganda and fear-mongering from the gov't like now, no indoctrination in the schools,no political correctness or enviro crap, no pandemics or controlling the masses thru fear, no tech to take over people's lives, and much less violence; we had more freedom, life was more affordable, much simpler times and the world was a much safer place then. The 70's was also a great time to be a kid and the 80's was a great time to be a teen. I wish I could go back. Does anyone want to come with me? I collected these photos over time to remind me of happier times and I had this exact same Barbie inflatable furniture when I was a kid! In fact, I had 3 sets of each and 2 or 3 suitcases all full of Barbies, clothes and accessories incl. a horse, a camper, a car, etc. Barbie had style..
This was the popular bike of the 70's and I just loved the banana seats. My friends all had bikes like these plus with sparlky ribbons hanging down from the handlebars. I wasn't allowed to have a bike(or a skateboard; also popular) as my mother said they were "too dangerous" for a high-traffic big city so I just borrowed my friend's behind her back.
In the 70's Christmas trees also looked like this. Real trees with that delicious real tree scent( we never had a real tree but my aunts always did) and the big lights and big decorations and lots and lots of icicles. Happy times and happy memories.
This is a typical high school class in the 80's and what any of my classmates looked like, incl. the "cool" guys and the girl on the right looked like how my friends did but we also had lots of the "Preppy" boys, too.
This is how teen girls looked like in the 70's. I was just a kid but I always looked up to the teen girls and thought that they were so cool.
Typical house in the 70's and we had a TV that looked just like this one and had a white shag carpet, too.
One of my aunts had a Christmas tree topper just like this one in the 70's I still remember from my childhood.
Avon pins that had scented perfumes inside when you lift up the front. I had several of these. I had 2 of the rabbits, the dog( my fave.) the scarecrow, and the gingerbread.
Clawfoot tub. I love them and we had one in our old Toronto house which was around 85 years old at the time when we lived there in the 80's.
One of my aunts had this exact same one she kept hard butterscotch candies in.
Fast Times At Ridgemont High. Classic 80's movie and I still have a pair of the checkered shoes seen here, I've worn them all around the world. They are well-travelled.
I remember having these when I was 4-5 years old. I wore them all summer and at the cottage and beach.
Classic shoes of the 70's and 80's Converse Chuck Taylor Hi-tops. Still my fave. shoes and I have something like 6 pairs in different colours.
Poochie! Cute dog that was big in the 80's. I think I still have my stuffed toy one around somewhere.
Quiet Riot. Big heavy metal group from the 80's and the official band of my grade 10 math class.
Typical Christmas decorations in the 70's you put on your ceiling. We had them, my aunt had them, pretty well everyone had them.
Typical Christmas card from the 70's with glitter on it. I really loved these as a kid.
I want my childhood back!
There is love enough in this world for everybody, if people will just look.-Kurt Vonnegut.
