I remember when I was kid I'd commonly combine German and English words and today I remembered one I'd often use: Das smell. The road crew paved our brand-new road today(on the 2 sides and all down the road in front of our house) and the asphalt smelled sooooo baaaad we could even smell it inside the house.....with the doors and windows closed and even having my cinnimin apple candle lit didn't mask the stench! It's even raining so it surprised me that they could even do it in the rain(and with all the leaves on the ground). My cousin's ex-wife and her husband are also moving to Alberta( 2 of my guys live there) in 10 days as well and tomorrow is also my BFF's( since age 12) birthday and she'll be 56.
Here they are laying the tar down with some sort of machine and it looks like a carpet from the photo here, or like marzipan or fondant you use in baking (and if you look closely you can see what I mean about the neighbour's fence sticking up at the top the tall pieces he should have cut off that annoy the hell out of me as well) and the more I think about it, it seems more likely I might have stomach cancer as well as all the boxes check: the worsening pain, night sweats, extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, cough( it may have spread to my lungs, and possibly also liver, etc.too) feeling of a lump in my throat, indigestion, a feeling of "fullness", less appetitie, inability to exert myself, swelling and bloating of my stomach area, and edema....I found out as well that you can actually live without a stomach too; if they have to surgically remove it; food just goes from your esophogus right to your colon, and a bonus; you don't feel hungry and you also lose weight, too!
...and finally they smooth it down flat with the steamroller and as they do it, you can see hot steam coming up from the pavement but it seems to cool down and harden right away and I'm surprised actually how quickly they did it and how much they got done in just a few hours, so they'll be almost done: just the sidewalks and putting the sod on everyone's torn-up lawns left to go now! After 4 months we're nearing the end at long last!
This attitude came from pain, i wasn’t always like this.
