The Buffet.

Last night we went to the Chinese buffet for our early Family Day dinner since my hubby will be working on Monday even though it's a holiday he's still on call(yeah, I know, that sucks) and this is the first time in I don't know how long that we've all gone out together at the same time but it was nice despite my hubby having his phone at the table( he has no manners) and it looked like the one pictured here; it wasn't too big; just 2 rows of food plus the sushi and dessert and the price has gone waaaay up; it used to be just 12$ a person but the bill came to 141$ for the 5 of us(yet when my mother and I go to our fave. Italian place it's 100$ just for the 2 of us) so that would be about 24$ each, so it 's doubled and my hubby said there was a sign that said 3 plate minimum (I think it actually said 3 plate maximum) but we wanted to get our $$$$ worth so we loaded up with 3 heaping platefuls each and there's a fine line between filling up enough to get your $$$ worth but not so much that you stuff yourself too much and feel sick. I was saying how back in Roman times they'd stuff themselves to the point of vomiting and even had vomitoriums where they'd puke and then continue gorging themselves and the 28 YR old(who still had oysters despite still having the parasites from the other day) said that's not true just a myth and when I mentioned how the radio DJ said Arby's was named after RB from roast beef my hubby said that was wrong and it actually named after the founders initials; he always takes such pleasure in correcting me,too; pointing out I'm wrong and trying to make me look stupid, lording it over me how much more intelligent he is than I am he excuses as he doesn't " want me spreading 'misinformation.'".

My mother just sat there the whole time and hardly said a word, other than to glare at someone for something or other or to snap at me for something and she also got sweet & sour sauce all over her hands and up her arms and on the way home in the car everyone was having fun and joyously conversing,laughing, joking, and family bonding and she told us to all shut up and to have complete silence but we just ignored her and my hubby said insurance won't cover the cost of the tow truck  from the car accident either and it was 1200$ and even generally just covers 80% and a comission also ruled the Fascist gov't use of the Emergencies Act during the Freedom Convoy invoking martial law was "justified" even though it wasn't but what do you expect though from a Police State but the PC leader disagreed and said it was actually Trudeau who was responsible for labelling peaceful protesters and those who simply disagreed with oppressive vaccine mandates as "terrorists" etc. and for limiting our freedoms and making things unaffordable, etc. I really hate this shithole.

Everyone leaves in the end anyway.
