Yesterday being the first day of summer was also the "longest" day of the year, that being the most hours(15) of sunlight and it was also National Dachshund Day! I also visited my mother and we never have too much to talk about, she mostly just lays there and I just sit with her. Her oxygen is low again and she still feels nauseated and her doctor said she'll have to see 'what's going on in there" (her abdomen) what's causing it, but no shit; I thought that's what she was there for, and she kept asking when the 16 YR old ( her little "pet") will come as she "needs a luggy"( what she calls his love/huggy) even though he's a bit too "old" for that now, and one of my cousins suggested for my trip some places she's been, incl. Norway, Fiji, New Zealand, Iceland, or Greenland, too, but I've already been to Norway and have no interest in Greenland or Iceland, but Fiji or New Zealand sound possible, unless, of course, you need to have the Covid "Clot-Shot", and I find it interesting as well having swam in both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans how the Pacific seems more "dense" and it was much harder to dive deeper down and my ears popped. I'm also possibly considering China because they have such great food, or maybe even North Korea because that would be a unique experience and not many people can say they've been to North Korea!
My cousins in Europe also shocked me by saying they don't have a clothes dryer( just a washing machine) and that no one there does; they all just hang their clothes outside(like rednecks!) to dry! That's really surprised me because it's just so backwoods; so primitive, and my hubby wonders why as well why I closely follow the Toronto mayoral election( which is on Monday) when I don't live there anymore but it's still my hometown and I'll always feel a "connection" to it, and Barrie is also passing a cruel and heartless law making it illegal to help homeless people in any way; giving them food, water, clothing, shelter, etc. and punishable by fines from 1-100K! Compassion and kindness should never be a crime! Humanity has lost its soul! There's also this mini sub lost off the coast of Newfoundland looking at Titanic wreckage with 5 people onboard and it runs out of oxygen today and there's a frantic search underway and I hope they find them alive in time but so many cruel people are commenting online "Who cares?" and "So what?" etc. because it's "just millionaires" etc.(the tickets cost 250K) which is so mean; it's still human lives! I hope they rescue them in time(and pray for a miracle) even though in my heart I fear the worst outcome, but how can people be so cruel? What is wrong with people?
Another night I'm barely holdin' on
One step away from being dead and gone
Am I alive to die another day?
Is this life that I've been livin'
All that's meant for me?-Three Days Grace
