Yesterday my hubby, the 16 YR old and I visited my mother and I wore my new Mexican peasant blouse( seen here) my hubby gave me for my birthday.(I actually chose it and he paid for it, the same way he gets all my gifts now, ever since our first Christmas fiasco when he gave me a friggin' spice rack and was forever banned from picking out my gifts) and the LTC home has a Covid outbreak now too and we had to wear face diapers(masks) that I took off as soon as I got into her room where they wouldn't see and they also limited it to 2 visitors(which we never knew) and we had 3(normally it's just me) and a nurse came in and we got "busted" so our visit got cut short and we had to leave early. She also hit us up for more $$$ again, too, and once again God provides: she'd said to us she needed more clothes as she really only has a few shirts and a couple of pairs of pants( although she also never goes out anywhere, either) and the other day the home received a donation of a whole bunch of clothes(someone probably died) and the nurses asked her if she would like them; I guess knowing she's the "poor" one in the group as she can't afford a phone or TV in her room like other residents or $$ to order-in Chinese food like the others and we don't have the $$ to buy more. I also heard Tim Hortons is bringing back her fave. donut temporarily as well; the Dutchie ( the gross square glazed one with disgusting raisins in it) and it's funny, too; she thought that a dutchie is only a donut and didn't know for the longest time that it's also a name referring to a joint, or a doobie, too! 😂
There was also this post I came across the other day, a meme actually, saying something along the lines of, Keep the damn scissors in the kitchen! and it made me laugh as we were always losing our kitchen scissors.....
they'd always go disappearing....
until my hubby got the clever idea to chain them up like how they used to do with pens at the bank back in the day( as shown here). Now we no longer have a problem, except we can only use them in the kitchen.
It's funny as well I just realized as well that Buddy hardly ever growls; the only time I've ever even heard him growl is when my hubby is being an asshole and teases him and tries to take his toy off him, and he thinks I'm "lazy" and don't do anything as well and whenever I remind him all the things I do ( cooking, laundry, garbage) he always downplays and dismisses it like " oh, it's sooo hard to toss something into the oven/into the washing machine/garbage can, etc. anyone can do it; it's NOT hard!" and he's also back to work today, too, after 3 weeks off. I also think I'm getting a cold as the other day my throat hurt and today I feel congested so I took echinacea to lessen the duration and severity of it.
We also have 4 resident squirrels living in a leaf house in one of our trees ,all adult-sized, so I wonder if it's a family of 2 parents and 2 kids, or 2 families living together, or room-mates, or maybe even a single dude with 3 wives, and I had this purple rabbit's foot on my bedside table, not a talisman for good luck because I don't believe in any of that superstitious crap, but for a sensory( "stimming") thing as it's relaxing and calming to stroke the soft fur(it's an autistic thing) and this morning it got caught in the drawer and snapped in half and broke and now I'm sad. It was also a nostalgic thing, too, because as a kid I had a purple and an orange one I'd carry in my jacket pocket and stroke.Wearing my Canada Goose parka yesterday ( now it's cold and we have snow) it also has white fur trim on the hood( it's either coyote or Arctic fox) and when I have the hood up and I can see the white fur hanging above me now I can't tell if it's the fur from my parka or my own silver/white hair, and I also notice too my hair is going more grey now, with less turd-brown, and my white matter decline must be worsening as well as I notice lately I'm using the wrong words and getting confused, eg. mixing up "yesterday" with "tomorrow" and "for" with "to" and I told my hubby how in Jr. High over Christmas break my friend D and I would always go skating at the outdoor pool at my school when I really meant rink.Maybe I have a brain tumour?
He looks in the mirror but he can't see himself.-Kari Short
