Throwback Thursday: Re-Post From My Original Blog.

 22 May 2011 Obama And Israel;

As you can see, some things never change.

Obama And Israel.

 US Prez Obama has some advice to Israel regarding their issues with the Palestinians. He suggests that the area should be divided between both according to a 60’s treaty. I agree this is a good idea as both groups have a history and a claim in the region and like what Spain and Portugal did with South America many years ago; both laid claims to the land and divided it up between them. I think this is a good idea. Like with kids: they fight over something they both want you make them share it, this way everyone is satisfied and it’s fair.Even a Kindergartener understands this.It’s not that hard…

I have been to Israel and have seen it first hand with my own eyes how the Palestinians are treated and how they live. They are segregated into “ghettos” and live and are treated like second-class citizens compared to Israeli citizens and it’s wrong and  a human rights violation. No wonder they are unhappy with the current situation!(It reminds me of how the Native people are treated here) It was quite heartbreaking to see, actually. I think Obama’s idea makes sense, but of course, the problem is that USA doesn’t have the right to decide what another country does, has no say in their policy and doesn’t have a right to dictate their desires to them; it’s not their place; they have to decide for themselves, work it out between themselves and find their own way. USA too often acts like the world’s policeman. What they want doesn’t matter.

Many of my Christian friends are also so pro-Israel at all costs as they think God blesses Israel and those who support it and condemns those that do not, yet fail to see the present-day Zionist state of Israel is NOT the former Israelite nation of the past referred to, and I doubt God would “favour” any nation that suppresses a population of it’s people. He would most certainly favour equality and peace and a decent standard of living  for all(this is the part where my 16 YR old would shout “Communist!” at me,ha ha).The Bible also states that God is “NOT ‘partial’ to ANY nation” but that ANY nation that follows Him is blessed.My friends fail to see this and are therefore strongly against Obama’s idea,  and automatically think if you are “pro-Arab” you must be anti-Israeli,and I’m not “anti” anything. I do think Muslims are getting a raw deal in society just as much as I also disagree with anti-Semitism.I do sympathize with the Palestinians yet I am NOT anti-Israeli; I just hope for a fair settlement for everyone but it’s not up to USA to decide!
