At The End Of The Bridge.

I found this on Facebook on the Rainbow Bridge Society:

“At the End of the Bridge”
I wandered long through days and years,
Through memories stitched with love and tears.
The world moved on, but I stayed still,
My heart left aching, never will.
I’d whisper to the wind your name,
And dream of when you softly came,
A wag, a paw, a gentle nudge,
A love so pure it wouldn’t budge.
And every night I closed my eyes,
I saw you underneath the skies,
A shining bridge of colors bright,
Where souls like yours returned to light.
They called it myth, a tale of peace,
Where pain and aging finally cease.
But deep inside, I always knew,
My journey ends when I find you.
And then one day, the silence broke,
As dreams became the words you spoke.
I saw you standing there so proud,
No longer weary, no longer bowed.
Your eyes met mine, you leapt so high,
With joy that echoed through the sky.
You reached me first, as you always do,
A burst of light, and I found you.
I held you close, you smelled the same,
You licked my face and knew my name.
No time had passed for you at all,
You came to me just like I’d call.
And on that bridge we walked once more,
No grief, no loss, no closing door.
Just paw in hand and heart to soul,
Together again, completely whole.

Life is not the same it subsides into existence. There is no future. Just memories of a past life.-John Wicks
