So yesterday I put our Christmas tree up!
This year I chose a blue, silver, & white theme. Last YR I did a pink, silver, and white theme. My friend B said she really likes this colour theme and has done it herself as well. Someone online also said( as someone always does every year) I should "wait until after Remembrance Day" to put up the tree but alas, I don't glorify the military or war so f*ck it. My friend J (from the old church) even said she's already put up 3 trees already and plans to do more and another friend says she always does 2, one for each Bay window.
This will also be the first Christmas since Buddy ( it's been 7 months now) and my mother died( it will be a year next month) so it will be a hard time to get thru and I won't be making a "big deal" over the holidays this year.
I only had one gift(my hubby's) to buy anyway since no one ever gets anything for me( except for my hubby) so why would I waste my $$$ on those ingrates? When we were out shopping the other day before the concert he already found what he wanted so he picked it up and I paid for it and that will be saved for his gift so I'm basically all already done.
For the dinner I'm also just keeping it low-key this year, esp. since they're going to Vancouver in Feb. to do their "Christmas" later with the girls( and possibly stop off and visit the Edmonton Boys as well) without me, just the way they prefer it..
Yesterday the 31 YR old was out for most of the day as well and didn't come back until later in the afternoon so I actually got to spend some time with my own dog without him here always stealing him off me! It was nice and I missed him. Beja and I got to hang out, just us, and we played Fetch and cuddled and I really enjoyed it. I also burned the entire right palm of my hand on the stove, too, not knowing the element had just been on( and it wasn't red but had turned back to black) as I was cutting the French bread with the wooden saw( my grandmother brought all the way over from Europe and has been in my mother's family for ages) and I placed my hand down on the stove as I cut the bread....and I burned my palm and it went all puffy and red, and oh, my god, did that ever HURT!
Holy f*ck!!

This morning there was also a pretty warm glowing pink light that illuminated the room I thought must have been the sunrise at first except there was no sun yet and then wondered if it was either my mother or Buddy stopping by to say hello, and people are all sad the Blue Jays lost the baseball thing, too, but I think it's good that they even made it as far as they did, to even qualify for the finals, and it WAS against the L.A. Dodgers and I don't even follow baseball and even *I* know they're a strong team . It's still like winning the silver medal at the Olympics, and that's not too shabby.
I've lived in both cities,too.
We exist in the now.-Simplii
