Hibernation.

I don't think I've ever seen anything like it.
The snowbanks go up to my chest!
Now officially they said we got 43 cm of snow and in Toronto they got 61 cm and 60% of flights were cancelled.
This is exactly why  I don't travel in the winter!
As for us, we're hibernating.
It's also so eerily yet calmly peacefully quiet out there. No cars going by, no one around.
Nothing.
My hubby said if we lived in an apartment we wouldn't have to shovel but NO WAY!! I'm never living in one ever again! Neighbours are too close and I couldn't have my dog, my yard, be able to smoke mi ganja or suntan topless.
I'd have everything I enjoy taken away.
Plus, it's going backwards , going from home ownership to rental, sort of like "slumming" it.

Good news! In the afternoon our pipes finally thawed out enough and we got our water back( at least for now, anyway) so I did the laundry and ran the dishwasher right away, before they freeze over again.
Lucky I noticed it, and just in time, too: my hubby had left the kitchen sink tap on(so he'd know when the water came back on) and the water was running and I just happened to be in the room at the time and heard it and wondered what the noise was and went to see and saw the tap running....and the sink filled right to the top with water!
Any longer it would have over-flowed onto the floor and we would have had a flood!

I also did manage to shovel out a small pathway (I think I broke my back!)on the back porch for Beja to do his "business" and for me to smoke mi ganja but I had to break it up and do it in 3 separate parts.
Sort of like how do you eat an elephant?
One bite at a time.
You can also see from the photos here (and if you're wondering what those green things are on top they're  dried seaweed  I put out for the squirrels)how deep the snow is and how high it is and seeing neighbours shovelling I could clearly see the snowbanks were higher than the people are tall.
I also have this *SPLITTING* headache I assumed must be high BP again but I took it and it was just 137 over-something , I think 75,so not too high, esp. not for me, so maybe it's just the low pressure system that swept thru that brought all that snow? My head is a barometer.

I feel like the old abandoned swingset/clubhouse, sandbox  and deflated balls in the backyard; no longer used, needed, wanted, or loved and just left to decay.
