Yay! My airline has voluntarily grounded the 737 Max jets that have crashed twice in the past 5 months, presumably due to some defect, and just a little while later the gov't finally did as well, one of the last countries (along with USA) to do so at long last, after pretty well every other country already did, as always lagging behind everyone else, always half-assed. At least now I won't have to feel like I'm playing Russian Roulette when I fly to Jamaica next month. Luckily though my airline stated they only have 4 of the 737's in their fleet, making up only a total of 10% so hopefully it won't cause too many disruptions.
I was thinking as well: this is honestly actually the first time I've ever even considered, What if the thing crashes? I've even had a couple of close-calls before; one emergency landing on the way back from London when we were were running out of fuel and basically "running on fumes" and had to land in Montreal and they didn't want to clear a runway for us but the pilot insisted we were coming in so make it work.....and landing in Cuba in a bad storm was the roughest, bumpiest turbulence and landing I've ever had. I was at least hoping this time though if it did crash at least that it would be on the way back so at least I would have enjoyed my vacation(and I'd die in Jamaica!), but figure with my luck it would probably be on the way there so I wouldn't even make it to Jamaica. I'm also sitting in the front of the plane, in the third row both ways so I'd go quickly if so, but at least I'd die doing something I love; flying and travelling, and it's sort of a glamourous way to die I guess, in a plane crash, but with my luck I'd probably die in the most embarrassing and humiliating way, like sitting on the toilet, or naked in the tub, or in the middle of using my vibrator or something.....
As well, the 19 YR old started her internship at CTV in Ottawa and a story that she researched and wrote up was even featured on the TV news last night on the Ottawa station, and the girls are going to an Ariara Grande concert in Toronto in June; not my kind of music but I hope they have fun and I like it they "inherited" my love of concerts, which is quite the ultimate experience, an experience my hubby never quite got to appreciate and never saw the point of, and he even hates Queen ,too; I mean who doesn't like Queen? Everybody likes Queen! That should have been an early warning sign right there; there's something inherently wrong with someone if they don't like Queen! The 24 YR old loves the fish Tilapia, too, but I haven't got the heart to tell him they swim among the hippos and eat their peeling dead skin and dung....ha ha.... and I saw an ad for a house to rent in my old Toronto neighbourhood as well and it was 3700$ a month. Shit.....people can't afford to live anymore! No wonder so many people in this country are in debt! Canada sucks!! M4L 2B4 will always have a special place in my heart though.
